ABOUT DAN

Faith, family, and hard work.

Dan Gober is a Camarillo resident, business leader, and community volunteer running for City Council in District 2.

A 30-year Ventura County resident, Dan spent his career leading teams in the life-science industry, one of California's strongest job-creating sectors. He spent 17 years with a major pharmaceutical company, rising into senior leadership and overseeing a West Coast team of roughly 100 people.

Today he chairs the Los Angeles County Life Science Advisory Board, where he's helped reform legislation to attract investment and bring good-paying jobs to communities. He wants to put that experience, and his network of business and civic leaders, to work right here in Camarillo.

Dan is a former Church Elder and Chair at The Bridge Church, a former AYSO soccer coach, and a father of four and grandfather. He's running to strengthen the local economy, protect our quality of life, and be an accessible, transparent voice for the people of District 2.

PRIORITIES

Dan's Core Focus

Homelessness & Safety in Old Town
  • Compassion and accountability, together — not one or the other.

  • Coordinate with county agencies, nonprofits, and faith communities to connect people with real help.

  • Keep Old Town's streets and sidewalks safe for residents, shoppers, and merchants.

Airport Noise
  • Residents near the airport deserve to be heard, not passed between agencies.

  • Engage directly with Ventura County and federal officials on flight patterns and noise mitigation.

  • Make sure neighborhood concerns are formally represented in airport-related decisions.

Supporting Camarillo Merchants
  • Treat local businesses as partners, not an afterthought.

  • Cut unnecessary red tape that makes it harder to open, stay, and grow.

  • Champion Old Town as the commercial and cultural heart of Camarillo.

Smart, Careful Development
  • Growth should work for our neighborhoods, not strain them.

  • Require real traffic and infrastructure planning before projects break ground (like the Old Town school).

  • Insist on genuine community input and respect for neighborhood character.

Attracting New Business & Good Jobs
  • Camarillo should compete for high-wage jobs in growing industries like life science.

  • Use Dan's life-science career and regional network to attract quality employers.

  • Bring the same practical, results-focused approach he used to help attract investment in other cities.

Quality of Life
  • The basics matter: clean streets, safe neighborhoods, well-kept parks.

  • Focus on practical, visible results residents can see and feel.

  • A city government that listens when something affects the people who live here.
